APPOINTMENT

At Black Kimono Tattoo, your health and the longevity of your tattoo are our top priorities. Proper aftercare ensures that your artwork heals beautifully and remains vibrant for years to come.

 Day 1: Initial Care

  • Leave the bandage on for 2–4 hours after your session (or as advised by your artist).
  • Wash your hands before touching the tattoo.
  • Gently wash the tattoo with lukewarm water and mild, fragrance-free soap.
  • Pat dry with a clean paper towel. Do not rub.
  • Apply a thin layer of aftercare ointment (Aquaphor, Hustle Butter, etc.).

 Days 2–7: Healing Phase

  • Wash the tattoo twice a day (morning and night).
  • Apply a light layer of ointment 2–3 times a day.
  • Avoid over-moisturizing. Your skin should breathe.
  •

⚠️ Important: Do NOT

  • Do not scratch, peel, or pick at the tattoo (even if it itches).
  • Do not expose it to the sun, pools, hot tubs, ocean water, or saunas.
  • Do not use scented lotions, Vaseline, or alcohol-based products.
  •

 After 1 Week:

  • Switch to a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer (like Aveeno, Lubriderm, etc.).
  • Continue applying moisturizer daily until fully healed (about 3–4 weeks).
  • You may notice mild flaking — this is normal. Let it peel naturally.

☀️ Long-Term Care:

  • Always use SPF 30+ sunscreen on your tattoo once healed.
  • Stay hydrated and keep your skin healthy for long-lasting results.
  •
